Climbing is a versatile hobby and it is easy to get involved in. People, and especially children are naturally inclined towards climbing. Climbing develops both body and mind, and doing sports in a group setting creates a sense of community and friendship.
Climbing is a very safe sport. An instructor guides each group of 8-16 children. All our instructors are trained by Finnish Climbing Association, and they train the children with a sufficient number of skilled auxiliary instructors.
Our club offers guided climbing for children aged 5 to 17 years. At present, there are 16 training groups, training for 90 minute sessions from Monday to Thursday between 4 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
The youngsters (aged 5-7) train on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in 60 minute sessions. It is also possible to train 2-3 times a week. Our club is invested in competitive sports. We offer an own small group for individuals who
are interested in climbing as a competitive sport. The group has a more individualized guidance in goal oriented training.

Prospective climbers or their parents should contact Joni Kuusenmäki (joni (at) kiipeilyurheilijat.fi) for consultation of group placement. Even though the training began in mid-August, you can jump in and join us in the middle of the season. You only pay for the training that remains. The autumn season lasts from August until Christmas time, and the spring season lasts from January to end of April. There are in total 19 training sessions per season.
The price consists of a training fee and a club membership.
The sibling discount is 25% for the second child and 35% for the third child.
A participating child must also be a member of the club. Annual membership for the children is discounted to 50 € until the end of 2017. Through the membership, the child receives all membership benefits, including OP Pohjola Sporttiturva 2017 through the Finnish Climbing Association, and provided by OP Pohjola (deductible € 200 / per accident).
